THE BRITISH CERAMIC CONFEDERATION
Technical Manager (Director Designate)
Location : STOKE-ON-TRENT
Remuneration: £45,000 + Benefits Package

The British Ceramic Confederation is a highly regarded and progressive Trade Association that represents all sectors within the ceramic industry. In preparation for the eventual retirement of its Technical Director, the organisation is looking for a high calibre individual who wants to progress their career and contribute to the success of the industry. You will need to hold a good relevant science or engineering degree and have had sound practical experience in a technical management role. You will also be experienced in representational work with Regulators in the U.K. and Europe and also have a firm grasp of domestic and European legislation applicable to manufacturing and especially relating to energy and emissions. Your personal qualities of drive, initiative and the ability to work independently under pressure are essential. Interviews will be carried out in the Stoke area and, if required, can be outside normal hours.

GENERAL MANAGER BUILDING CONSTRUCTION
LEADING & MANAGING A FIRE DOOR INSPECTION SCHEME (FDIS)
Location: London and home-based
Remuneration: £42k plus car allowance and benefits

This is a tremendously exciting opportunity to take full project management ownership of a scheme that has been formed by two well known and prestigious Trade Associations who have successfully piloted a new venture, The Fire Door Inspection Scheme. Its initial success has led to the need for a General Manager to totally run, manage and drive the FDIS forward. It will entail working with the scheme Partners and taking full responsibility for the operational efficiency and effectiveness of all aspects of the scheme, incorporating both educational and certification elements.

On completion of the scheme individuals become fully qualified Fire Door Inspectors. Knowledge of the building/construction sector while desirable is not mandatory.

Our client provides professional Health & Safety services to a wide range of clients within the Manufacturing sector.

The organisation is a prestigious consultancy that specialises in Health & Safety and designs and delivers Health & safety programmes to the highest standards.

You will be a chartered member of CMIOSH, have up to date technical skills and knowledge, and are likely to be in a consultancy role or would be interested in moving into such a position. You will also have strong leadership and problem solving skills and a proven track record of developing sound working relationships and be used to working in a commercial environment.

You will be a Chartered Member of the Institute of Occupational Safety and Health (CMIOSH) and have had considerable H&S experience within the manufacturing sector. You will be used to managing a professional team and have strong commercial awareness with the ability to develop customer relationships and in defining and meeting customer needs.

Our client is looking for an experienced Business Development Manager who has a strong B2B background. They will report directly to a Senior Director and have direct responsibility to devise a strategy and business plan that will produce a growing income stream from existing clients and new business contracts.

Our client is very well known throughout the UK with a wide range of activities. In the Birmingham area they provide various training programmes - the most important being the provision of high quality courses for apprentices.

You will have had successful responsibility for building sales income in a commercial training environment, and the management of a small sales team. Ideally you will also have an engineering qualification and good experience within manufacturing. However, a proven sales development background is more important than qualifications but detailed knowledge of manufacturing is vital. The prospects for the future are excellent.

This exciting opportunity is for a Manager who will take total responsibility for a busy training centre.

There is a wide range of programmes taking place including a large number of apprentices, skills courses, training consultancy and other bespoke programmes.

You will have had solid experience in managing similar programmes to those mentioned above and are looking for a progressive position with prospects for the future. You will have a degree in engineering and/or a HND, but more important than academic qualifications will be a record of significant practical experience with good commercial exposure.
